My first memory of the Queen was her Silver Jubilee in 1977. I was 7 years old and we had a huge street party. My Mum made a gorgeous 3 tier cake, we all dressed up, even the edge of the pavements were painted red, white and blue. It was a windy day and I recall someone with a staple gun, fixing the paper plates to the umpteen trestle tables.

What an amazing woman, to have given so much of her time and energy to serve and strengthen her country, and many of us as individuals too. I loved the brownies and Guides as a kid, achieving my Queens guide award when I learnt so much about her love of the Commonwealth and ALL the people within it.

If this is the only thing we learn from her reign, then it is a good lesson; We are all equal, we all have a place in this world and be gracious and welcoming at all times.

Here at Reeves & Reeves we love gift wrapping. Jane folds all our tissue paper in little squares that sit on the Jewellery inside our fabulously branded Jewellery boxes. The box is wrapped in gorgeous wrapping paper and we then hand tie all the ribbon into cute little bows. If you would like a gift message added to your order, we can do this. Please pop your message into the notes section at checkout. We will hand write this message onto a gift card and attach it to the wrapped box. To make life easier or for those last minute gifts we can also send directly to the chosen recipient. Simply enter their details in the shipping address.

Whilst I lived in London, way back in the 1990’s, I noticed there was an exhibition on at the V&A that I knew my mother would love. I got us tickets and she came to visit so off we went, not quite hand in hand, to the V&A to see the Faberge exhibition. Oh my goodness, for someone who loves all things sparkly, this was heaven. The exquisite work on display was just awe inspiring. Almost 20 years later, that exhibition inspired me to create our very own “Egg collection,” one of the first collections that we created at Reeves & Reeves and one that has lasted the test of time. I wouldn’t go so far as to compare our works to that of Faberge, but I hope our necklaces are just as cherished.
